Will you quit crowding me? You're making me sweat. [Leo shoved his friend away from his back as he dealt with their new front door. Fucking thing looked like the entrance to roach motel. The other doors were pretty much the same at least. They were all in the same crumby boat.]

Now, don't talk to anyone or do anything stupid okay? [Leo scolded as he tried his key in the second of the fourteen locks on their new front door.] Just keep an eye on things. If this key doesn't work we'll just have to break it down.

What if someone talks to me, do I ignore them? [he wasn't going to be rude]

[Aydin turned to face him] Can i try?

I got it. [Leo answered, frustrated. He only had to try their new keys in all of the locks. He didn't need any help and Aydin asking if he could try made him feel like he was being judged.]

Just, shut up a second.

okay... okay [he leant his back against the wall and sighed deeply]

[ Momma heard all the jingling and rustling downstairs, so she slowly worked her way down the stairs, leaning on the wall before he peeked over at the new boys.

She pouted, watching them for a while before she spoke up ]

Imma guess you're the new lads here. Wanna know the trick for the lock? Or ya'll can come up for tea or something if ya'll are stuck?

We're fine. [Leo snapped, not even looking at the owner of the voice as he tried the sixth lock and grunted in irritation.]

[Aydin jumped when he saw the lady] erm... well yes we are, we're not locked out though. We haven't even gotten in yet.

[he almost forgot instantly what Leo said about talking to people and then looked at his feet] sorry.

[ She looked between the boys before she dropped one of her hips, resting her hand on it. ]

Fine then, maybe i won't help yo' sorry asses!


[ She snapped her fingers before turning on her heel, heading towards the stairs. Why were boys around here always so rude! ]

[There was a satisfying click as Leo finally put the key in the right lock.]

Finally! [He gave a relieved sigh.]

Come on. [He pushed the door open and went inside, leaving Aydin in the hall for a moment to decide whether he wanted to come inside or run on after that lady and apologize for offending her.]

[Aydin sighed and watched Leo walk in before he ran after the woman] hey... erm

[once he was close enough Aydin tapped her arm] I'm real sorry about Leo. He's a bit erm... stand off-ish and protective

[He smiled at her kindly and held out his hand] I'm Aydin. It's nice to meet you and I'm sorry for Leo. The other boy.

[ Momma watched the boy, tapping her foot before she sighed, resting her hands on his hips as she pursed her perfectly glossed lips at the boy. ]

Ya'll need to tell your friend he's gonna get his face a slap if he keeps being mean to ladies! [ she smiled before taking the boys hand, shaking it lightly. ]

Jancy Gibbons, But round here people just call me Momma Gibbs!

I tell him, ma'am but he doesn't listen to me [He chuckled and shook her hand]

I'm Aydin and the other guy is Leo. He's really nice once you get to know him and he lets his wall down some.

[Aydin smiled and wiggled a little] Momma? do you look after everyone?
