[Same place as always. It was getting more and more familiar now as the weeks turned into months. Leo and Aydin were becoming part of the block. They were familiar faces now, instead of fresh and new. Familiar, but still beautiful.]
Thanks. [Leo smiled again, bowing as he got himself into the car and relaxed. It was a familiar place, he felt safe there. It was like night and day compared to how he had felt in his last encounter with the cigarette man.]
So... How's life treating you? We got a new dog since I last saw you. She's real cute.
[ Douglas slid into the driver's seat before he started off, driving them away from the dark quarters to the quiet side of the city where restaurant fronts lit up like Christmas.]
It's fine, nothings getting worse but that doesn't mean it's getting any better. [ He gave a slow nod, only to chuckle at how much Leo lit up talking about the new dog. ]
Did you now? What's her name?
[ There was an addictive beauty in that boys face when he lit up, that innocence that shone through behind the years teasing at his eyes. He could almost hear it through the depth of his voice pulling a childlike glee into the world.
[Leo nodded as Douglas explained himself. He was glad the man seemed to relax into the conversation. As undesirable as the circumstances were, Leo still got a kick out of helping people be the best version of themselves.]
Her name's Suzi. She's a Jack Russel, totally cute. I can show you a picture if you want?
[He began to scroll through his phone as Douglas kept on driving. He wasn't paying attention to where they were going, assuming they would once again go to Douglas' house.]
[ It was a good thing Leo expected to go there as it was the only place Douglas assumed they could or would go.
He smiled at the picture, looking over once they were stopped at a red light. God that was precious and the slight look into Leo's real life brought something to him that he never expected.]
She suits you- The little dots on her arms and then on your back. They match. [ He chuckled before driving more. Though if he had a chance he'd steal that picture to look at again. get lost in the curve of Leo's shoulder, the way the light danced off his skin. The simple intimacy of the nudity and closeness of the photo. He wanted so much to be the one who took it. ]
[In truth, Leo was a little embarrassed when Douglas mentioned the freckles on his back. He's kind of forgotten he was in the picture too, and since he couldn't see his own back, he hadn't even considered someone else looking at it all that closely.]
We rescued her from this lady who yelled at her and kicked her. [He went on about the dog, since it was clearly his favorite subject.] She's doing really well now. Real affectionate. She wants to sleep next to me most every night.

He was far too infatuated with that boy. ]
